Alexis Kiah "Lexie" Brown, born on October 27, 1994, is a WNBA professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks. She previously played for the Chicago Sky, Minnesota Lynx, and Connecticut Sun, who drafted her ninth overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft.
Growing up in Boston, Massachusetts, Lexie's father, Dee Brown, had a notable NBA career, famously winning the 1991 Slam Dunk Contest. Her basketball journey began at Dr. Phillips High School in Florida before she transferred to North Gwinnett High School in Georgia, where she led her team to the state semifinals and earned a spot in the 2013 McDonald's All-American Game.
Lexie attended the University of Maryland, helping her team reach the NCAA Final Four during her freshman year and earning the nickname "Big Shot Brown." She later transferred to Duke University, where she set an ACC record with 56 consecutive free throws.
Drafted by the Connecticut Sun in 2018, Lexie averaged 1.7 points in her rookie season. She was traded to the Minnesota Lynx in 2019, becoming a key scorer off the bench with a career-high 21 points in a game. In 2021, she signed with the Chicago Sky, contributing to the team's championship victory. In 2022, she joined the Los Angeles Sparks and has shown remarkable resilience despite facing undiagnosed Crohn's disease during the 2023 season. We look forward to her performance in the upcoming season!
